Black Speech is a language spoken and written by those who swore their allegiance to Sauron.
Black speech is a language created for the servants of evil and was used without a love of its words, filled with curses and abuse.[1] It became the language of Mordor.
History[]
The human Theo discovers the hilt in the Southlands. When he gazes upon it, he hears whispers in Black Speech.[2]
The petals of a tree in Valinor begins to fall, and High King Gil-galad picks up one of the petals as darkness spreads across it. He can hear the whispers of Black Speech as this occurs.[2]

Galadriel is shown a scroll in Númenor's Hall of Lore that documents a map of the Southlands. Accompanying the map is an inscription in Black Speech speaking of a place and plan to create a place of their own where evil would not only endure but thrive. It would be enacted in Morgoth's defeat by his successor.[3]
Arondir is taken hostage by Orcs[4] and subjected to forced labor on their behalf. He observes them speaking Black Speech to one another.[3]
