Nenya is one of the three Elven Rings of Power. Crafted during the Second Age by Celebrimbor and the Elven-smiths of Eregion, Nenya incorporated a white stone set into ring made of an alloy mixing Mithril with gold and silver from Valinor. The ring was constructed with the hope of arresting and reversing the waning of the Elves, although the ring had power in its own right.

History[]
Crafting the Rings[]
Hoping to reverse the spreading darkness through the Great Tree, High King Gil-galad entrusted Lord Celebrimbor with crafting a cure for the waning Elves. He was given a herald in Elrond,[1] who helped forge an alliance with the nearby Dwarves.[2] It was decided the artifact must be of a circular shape, though the initial inception of a crown was forgone when materials dwindled. Lord Celebrimbor and Elrond unknowingly worked with the Dark Lord Sauron, who had disguised himself as the mortal Halbrand, to craft three distinct and powerful rings from the rare ore mithril. They combined it with gold and silver from Valinor and forged the materials together. They successfully crafted three rings, one of which was Nenya.[3]
