The Sundering Seas, also known as Belegaer[2] or the Great Sea, was an ocean laying between Middle-earth and Valinor.
History[]
The Sundering Seas separated Middle-earth from Valinor. In the deep places of the world, nameless things still lurk.[3] The Elves of Valinor crossed the Sundering Seas to reach Middle-earth to face the great foe, Morgoth. Elves returning to Valinor set sail from the Grey Havens, crossing the Sundering Seas.[1]
