Tamar is a character in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He is a Númenórean who crosses Halbrand. Tamar is portrayed by Jason Hood, first appearing in the Season One episode "Adar".
History[]
Word of the Elf's arrival in Númenor spread across the island rapidly, as did news of her human companion. Tamar and his friends gossiped about the pair at a tavern, before Tamar spotted the human companion, Halbrand. He moved to the same table as Halbrand to mock his status as a low man and accused him of taking what the island had to offer for free. He wondered if the Elf would like someone of better breeding then Halbrand, like a Númenórean. Halbrand entered a dark state before he snapped back to reality. He joyfully offered free drinks to the tavern, which won Tamar and his friends over. Halbrand left after a few rounds, but stole Tamar's guild crest. Tamar and his friends cornered Halbrand in an alley and confronted him about the theft. They wouldn't let this slide and attacked Halbrand, unaware of the man's skills in combat. Several Númenórean guards surrounded Halbrand and arrested him.[1]
