The Rings of Power Wiki

The Rings of Power were a number of magical rings forged by the Elves. Three were made for the Elves, seven for the Dwarf-lords, and nine for the kings of mortal Men. Another ring, forged by Sauron, was created in secret, with the intent of controlling all the other rings. The three Elven rings were forged by Celebrimbor and the Elven-smiths of Eregion, blending mithril with gold and silver from Valinor.

Description[]

The Three Rings for the Elves were not made for strength or domination or hoarded wealth, but understanding, making, and healing, to preserve all things unstained.[1]

The three Elven rings were crafted in the workshop of the famed Elven-smith Celebrimbor in the realm of Eregion. The rings themselves were made of Mithril, interwoven with gold and silver from Valinor which was acquired by melting down a dagger that had once belonged to Finrod, the brother of Galadriel. Each ring was uniquely fashioned, and set with a beautiful stone; one red, one blue, and one white. It was Celebrimbor's hope that the jewels could be used to capture the essence of Middle-earth in the same way that Fëanor's work had done.[2]
