The Two Trees of Valinor
The Two Trees of Valinor were the heart of Valinor, illuminating the land until they were destroyed by Morgoth.
Official Description[]
Known as Telperion and Laurelin, the Two Trees of Valinor emit shining light to illuminate the Undying Lands in the First Age. The Trees were destroyed by Morgoth, who then fled to Middle-earth with the Silmarils, jewels that had been infused with the trees’ radiance.
History[]
The Two Trees, Telperion and Laurelin, stood in Valinor, emitting a shining light that illuminated the land.[1] Laurelin was gold, and Telperion was silver.[2] The light from the trees was infused into the Silmarils by the Elven craftsman Fëanor. Morgoth coveted the Silmarils,[3] and the Two Trees themselves were destroyed by the Dark Lord after he stole the Silmarils and fled to Middle-earth.[1]
Even long after their destruction, Elves that had lived in Valinor, such as Galadriel, still felt the light of the trees on their face.[4]
